Skyrim has a real knack for turning a short walk into an all-night excursion. Finding a nice spot to stop and take in the scenery is one thing; spending the evening placing tents and bedrolls one by one is another. Sothasimp's Wayfarer's Rest - A Convenient Camping Framework handles all of that arranging for you.

You’ll need to bring at least one bedroll, find some relatively level ground, and then use the Set Up Camp lesser power. The site layout adapts to your inventory, comfortably fitting as many as eight bedrolls alongside three tents centered around the main fire. Rather than simply dropping a bedroll next to a fire, this setup provides seating alongside a backpack for secure gear storage while resting.

Additional optional features include a wood-chopping block and even a fully functional bathtub, for those who prefer a touch of warmth in the bitterly cold wilderness. After all, even a mighty Dragonborn who's been drudging through the dirt and snow might appreciate a little time out for some personal wellness and luxury.

The campsite can also automatically clear grass within its radius when that option is enabled. Once lit, the central hearth doubles as a cooking station. If you prefer a bit more realism, enabling the optional fuel toggle requires gathering actual firewood before sparking the flames, so if that’s up your alley, happy harvesting.

Your traveling companions also get more than just a front-row seat to your newfound comfort. Followers can pull up fireside seating and roll out extra bedrolls of their own. If you're traveling with a spouse or a lover, their bedrolls will link up with matching colors. A thoughtful little detail that makes the camp feel like a real group settling down after a long journey.

When you're ready to get moving again, just use the lesser power a second time to pack everything up and get on your way. The tents are Utenlands style for now, with vanilla tents and other add-ons still on the creator's to-do wish list.

If your favorite Skyrim playthroughs involve wandering the wilderness with a few companions, Wayfarer's Rest is an easy one to recommend. You’ll still need to carry your gear, but now you won’t have to spend half the night arranging it.
