The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition gets the settlement-building bug

Apparently, owning half the houses in Skyrim wasn't quite enough. Now we can start building the towns around them, too. Binksy92's Frontier - Skyrim Settlements introduces a full settlement-building system to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition, letting players place roads, workbenches, and buildings before inviting new residents to move in. We're talking homes, shops, inns, working interiors, and settlers with actual jobs to do. They'll need food, earn money, develop their skills, and generally expect you to run the place like a responsible community leader. Good luck with that last part.
It's an ambitious first release, and there are a few boundaries worth respecting. Recruitment currently works with NPCs created by the mod itself, while settlement navigation depends on the terrain and existing pathfinding underneath your construction. Binksy92 warns against removing Frontier from an ongoing save before dismantling the settlements you've built. There's plenty of room for the project to grow, but the prospect of putting down roots in Skyrim without simply buying another furnished house is already pretty appealing.
