About Modding News Central

Nexus, ModDB, GitHub, Discord, Steam. Who has time to check them all?

We do. Every day, we track what's actually changing across PC modding. We cover new releases, major updates, total conversions, tools, frameworks, and cut it down to what's worth your five minutes.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Short by Design. Curious by Nature.

You might notice our articles don't take very long to read. That's intentional. Modding News Central isn't here to turn every new mod, update, or community project into a 2,000-word dissertation. There are plenty of great places for deep dives, technical breakdowns, and exhaustive reviews. We love that stuff, too. But that's not what we're trying to be.

We're here to introduce you to as much of this incredible community as we can. The big releases, the clever little fixes, the ambitious passion projects, and the wonderfully unexpected creations you didn't even know you were looking for.

We'll tell you what's happening, why it's interesting, and anything important you ought to know. Then we'll point you straight to the people who made it. Think of us as that friend who says, "Hey, you've gotta check this out," gives you the rundown, and lets you take it from there. Could we write 2,000 words about every project? Sure. Would that make us better at what we're actually trying to accomplish? We don't think so.

We're not chasing a Pulitzer here. What we are doing is celebrating a community that keeps finding new ways to make the games we love even more interesting.

Our goal? Help you discover something cool. Send you to give it a look. Go have fun.

Who we are

Skyrim, Fallout, and Cyberpunk all earn their attention. But modding is so much bigger than a handful of giants.

Modding News Central is an aggregate resource for gamers, modders, creators, maintainers, and anyone who still gets a kick out of seeing what somebody made a game do that it was never built to do.

Our goal is to cover the huge games and modding news around them while also giving attention to the smaller mods and indie games. We hope to inform you of the great projects you weren't looking for but are glad you found.

01

There's a lot out there.

Big releases, forgotten classics, ambitious overhauls, and little projects that deserve a whole lot more attention. We spend our time digging through the modding world so the good stuff doesn't get lost in the shuffle.

02

We get to the good stuff.

Nobody needs another wall of patch notes. We want to tell you what's happening, why it's interesting, and anything you ought to know before diving in. The important stuff, without making you work for it.

03

We send you to the source.

The people making these projects are the reason MNC exists. We tell their stories, show off their work, and point you straight to the source. If something catches your eye, go give the creators some love.
