The Companions will take no for an answer in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition

Joining the Companions in Skyrim eventually comes with a fairly substantial expectation: becoming a werewolf. For a character who has no interest in lycanthropy, that can make one of the game's major faction stories feel unnecessarily restrictive. Flowrifto's Say No to Werewolf adds an alternative conversation with Skjor in the Underforge, allowing you to refuse the transformation and continue the questline.
The new dialogue uses assembled lines from the original voice recordings, and the creator says the implementation avoids editing vanilla quests. Skjor also survives the refusal route, giving the choice consequences beyond simply declining a power. It's a particularly welcome idea for players who enjoy the Companions' story but don't want their character's identity decided by a single ritual.
