Minecraft villagers aren't exactly known for being great conversationalists, but at least you can usually trust them not to make their neighbors disappear. Psycho Villagers has other ideas.
The horror mod from Catomon has received an update introducing a new kidnapper villager type, changes to nighttime activity, and a more useful notebook for keeping track of the people around you. Villagers can now be marked as suspects, missing, or dead, turning what would ordinarily be a simple list of names into something considerably more unsettling.
The update also improves dropped notebook clues and changes how village reputation works during certain encounters. Killing a psycho who's actively chasing and attacking you now improves your standing instead of damaging it. Considering the circumstances, that seems like a reasonable adjustment.
It's the notebook that catches our attention most. Minecraft villages are normally places where you trade, gather supplies, and occasionally wonder why somebody has claimed the workstation you just placed. Having to keep track of who might be dangerous, and who has mysteriously disappeared, gives those same settlements a very different atmosphere.
