Fallout 4's Commonwealth Ballistics makes cover thickness matter

Cover gets a lot more complicated when bullets can actually pass through it. Commonwealth Ballistics brings material- and caliber-aware penetration to Fallout 4, weighing the weapon, round, surface, and thickness before deciding how much damage makes it through. NPC suppression is part of the overhaul, too, giving firefights a different set of pressures.
Version 2.0.0 brings the system to the current game branch. Its reach also means it can overlap with ammunition packs, damage overhauls, and other combat mods, so compatibility deserves attention. The appeal is straightforward: wood, steel, and concrete no longer have to behave like interchangeable pieces of scenery.
