Fallout 4's Rain Reimagined makes the Commonwealth's downpours worth watching

The Commonwealth has plenty of reasons to look miserable, but there's no reason its rain can't look beautiful while making everybody thoroughly uncomfortable. Joelthiese411's Rain Reimagined gives Fallout 4's falling rain a makeover, introducing more convincing droplets, refraction, highlights, and lighting that changes with the time of day. There's also a live editor for adjusting size, stretch, brightness, opacity, and the amount of visible rain, along with finer controls for how droplets interact with their surroundings. You can even tinker with the weather's appearance while the game continues around you. Preston Garvey can wait. We're busy appreciating precipitation.
This isn't a complete weather overhaul. Rain Reimagined works with the rain Fallout 4 already produces rather than summoning storms of its own, and it doesn't add ground splashes or droplets sliding across a power armor visor. At publication, Joelthiese411 had gameplay-tested runtime 1.10.163, while MNC had not confirmed compatibility with newer builds. It's a focused visual improvement, but one that offers a surprising amount of control over something most players probably haven't thought much about since their last walk through a Commonwealth thunderstorm.
