Fallout 4's Battle Rifle brings a familiar ping and a Museum of Freedom detour

A little New Vegas nostalgia has found its way into the Commonwealth. DegenerateDak's Battle Rifle brings an M1 Garand-inspired firearm to Fallout 4, right down to the distinctive ping that makes the weapon recognizable. It's a modest addition with a specific appeal: giving players another classic-looking rifle to carry across the wasteland.

The mod launched September 5 and received a follow-up update the next day. It adds a weapon rather than changing Fallout 4's wider combat rules, so the attraction is the rifle itself. Players combining it with custom animations or weapon distribution mods should consult the creator's current requirements.
