V has enough expenses to worry about without paying for an apartment that never gets used. Between weapons, vehicles, cyberware, and the occasional questionable financial decision, those eddies could probably be doing something more useful.
Modder eriklaras has released Sell Apartments - Real Estate Expansion, giving Cyberpunk 2077 players a way to terminate apartment rentals and recover part of what they originally paid. Despite the name, this isn't a traditional property-selling system. You're ending a lease and receiving a refund, rather than putting an owned apartment on the market.
The process can be handled through an in-game real estate website or supported rental locations. Refund amounts are configurable, with the default returning 70% of the original fee, and players can choose whether payment arrives immediately or after a short in-game delay. There's also an optional system that lets rental prices fluctuate over time.
One thoughtful detail is that access isn't revoked the instant you confirm a termination. The mod waits until you've left the apartment's vicinity, giving V an opportunity to collect anything worth keeping before the doors are effectively closed.
The system primarily supports apartments rented through Native Interactions Framework, with optional handling for vanilla apartment rentals. H10 isn't included, and the mod requires Phantom Liberty and compatible dependencies.
It's a relatively modest addition, but it makes Night City's rental properties feel a little more like actual financial commitments. If V isn't using a place anymore, there's finally a way to hand back the keys and put some money toward something else.
