Fallout 4's Progressive Weapon Skills rewards you for sticking with your favorite guns

Remember when RPGs let you get better at something simply by doing it? Swing enough swords, fire enough rifles, make enough questionable decisions involving explosives, and eventually your character gets the hang of things.

BVoLatte's Progressive Weapon Skills brings that kind of progression to Fallout 4. Rebuilding the earlier Progressive Weapon Perks project with its original author's permission, the mod introduces ten weapon skills that improve through use, with each level increasing damage for its associated category. Handguns, rifles, shotguns, melee weapons, explosives, and other weapon types all have their own progression, while a Pip-Boy display or craftable Weapon Log lets you check how things are coming along. A subsequent fix also addresses explosives gaining skill levels without receiving the corresponding damage bonus. One important warning: this is a replacement for the older mod, not something you're supposed to install alongside it, and starting a new game is recommended. For anyone who likes watching a character gradually become terrifyingly competent with their weapon of choice, there's a nice old-school RPG flavor to this one.
