Starfield's planets get a vivid new identity with Sci-Field

Starfield's subdued palette isn't the only way to imagine its settled systems and alien landscapes. Sci-Field pushes the game toward vivid colors, stronger black-and-white contrast and glowing flora, giving familiar locations a more fantastical appearance. Creator SWCatLady developed the look in part around their own visual-accessibility needs, using clearer separation between objects and surfaces.
The overhaul reaches across much of the base game and its expansions, including terrain and creatures, but it isn't finished everywhere. Character and clothing packages remain in development. This is a substantial aesthetic choice rather than a neutral texture upgrade, and that's precisely why it may appeal to players who want their next trip across the stars to feel unfamiliar again.
