A rescue tool gives Starfield's NPCs new options

Starfield's NPC Enhancer Gun is becoming more than a character-customization trick. Reigor's rewrite lets eligible NPCs follow and fight alongside the player, changes their size, and provides a way to free characters trapped in the scenery. The creator also announced a Creations rollout that includes PlayStation.
There are boundaries to what that means. These aren't newly written companions with dialogue or replacements for normal crew recruitment, and some targets, especially SysDef personnel, may react with hostility. The creator doesn't guarantee that upgrading an existing save is safe, and the separate Achievement Friendly edition was still awaiting an update. Useful new controls, then, but not a risk-free companion overhaul.
