Starfield’s AEGIS HUD makes low health, oxygen and ammo harder to overlook

Starfield’s interface doesn’t need to shout until your oxygen or ammunition is running out. AEGIS keeps its health, air and ammo readouts quiet during ordinary exploration, then gives them solid backgrounds when something needs attention. Its notices also name the treatment for an affliction, so a warning can point you toward an injector or bandages instead of leaving you to decode another icon. The HONKCORE-based interface includes a quest tracker and scanner report. Its creator has released it as-is, with no further development or support planned.
UPDATE | OCTOBER 13, 2026
AEGIS has continued development and now includes its own interface framework, so HONKCORE and OSF UI are no longer required. The creator also warns that AEGIS must not be installed alongside other HUD replacements such as StarUI HUD. The earlier description of the project as unsupported no longer reflects its current state.
