Starfield's Milky Way Caps and Slammers brings collectible fever to the Settled Systems

Remember when collecting little decorated discs was practically a competitive sport? Apparently, that particular obsession has survived humanity's journey into space. JaRGNaR87's Milky Way Caps and Slammers brings a collection of 115 custom-designed caps and 11 slammers to Starfield, complete with holographic finishes, faction-inspired designs, and limited-edition pieces to hunt down. They're distributed through vendors and loot containers across the Settled Systems, giving explorers another reason to poke around shops and open every suspiciously promising chest. Because collecting weapons and spaceships apparently wasn't enough.

There's more to the collection than simply admiring the artwork. JaRGNaR87 describes individual perks or bonuses associated with the items, alongside display pieces for showing off the collection at a base or aboard a ship. What hasn't been established is a complete playable caps-and-slammers minigame, so this release is best understood as a collectible and decorative addition rather than a new competitive pastime. Still, there's something wonderfully appropriate about humanity carrying an old-fashioned collecting craze all the way into the stars.
