Stardew Valley bookcases can finally hold something with Functional Bookcases

You can build an entire farming empire in Stardew Valley, make friends with practically everyone in town, and somehow find yourself living in a house where the bookshelves are apparently just for show.

Novust's Functional Bookcases fixes that little indignity by giving players bookcases that actually store things. They retain the familiar Stardew look, can hold books or other items, and offer an alternative to scattering another dozen storage chests around your house. Robin sells the crafting recipes, and you can buy finished bookcases from her as well.

It's a small improvement, sure, but there's something satisfying about a bookshelf finally understanding its one job. The mod requires SMAPI and Flexible Storage Framework; multiplayer and Android support hadn't been tested by the creator when the release was documented.
