True Frontier Weather slows Red Dead Redemption 2's skies down

A storm rolling across Lemoyne shouldn't feel quite like the weather in New Austin or the Grizzlies. True Frontier Weather gives six regions of Red Dead Redemption 2 their own climate behavior and lets conditions linger instead of switching rapidly from one state to another. The transitions are gradual, aiming to make a long ride feel shaped by the country you're crossing.
The mod also tries to release weather locks left behind by scripted encounters and reevaluates conditions after sleeping. It requires Script Hook RDR2 and is still labeled a beta. Claims of negligible performance impact and broad compatibility come from the creator, so the atmosphere is the draw, not a guarantee that every modded setup will behave identically.
