Subnautica's Effective Builder wants your lockers to stop fighting you

Building an underwater home in Subnautica should be a relaxing little exercise in aquatic interior design. Until you spend ten minutes trying to line up a row of lockers and realize you're apparently incapable of placing two rectangles beside each other.

Effective Builder, from RunaY0, is an early attempt to make that process a little less aggravating. The mod introduces adjacent-object snapping, helping placed items sit neatly beside one another instead of requiring endless little positioning adjustments. The creator's screenshots show tightly arranged wall lockers and outdoor grow beds, which is exactly where this kind of feature could come in handy. You can toggle the behavior using the mouse scroll control, but this is explicitly a prototype, not a promise that every buildable object will suddenly cooperate. Even so, anybody who's ever stared at a slightly crooked row of storage lockers knows why something like this is worth keeping an eye on.
