Bannerlord's arenas have a new main event. More Arena Events, by JMatt, has added the Grand Melee: a seasonal tournament that lands in a randomly chosen town, puts four teams into the arena at the same time, and then lets the town get on with it. You can enter and fight for your team, watch from the stands, or put money on the rounds instead. Or you can ignore the whole thing, because the tournament runs and resolves whether or not you show up, which makes the world feel a little less like it is waiting around for you.

The money behind it is pleasingly sensible. The entry fees paid by the lords who enter fund the prize pool, so the spectacle pays for itself inside the game's own economy rather than conjuring gold from nowhere. The mod's tournament career and its other arena activities were already there before this; the Grand Melee is the new layer on top of them, not the start of the project. What exists now is a four-sided fight that breaks out in some town every season, with or without you.
