Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord's fleeing armies might finally learn to keep running

You'd think an outnumbered army running for its life would understand one very basic principle: keep moving away from the people trying to kill you.
Apparently, Bannerlord's campaign parties haven't always been especially committed to that idea. According to creator Charly30, weaker fleeing groups can stop, double back, or make some rather questionable decisions when being pursued. Flee For Your Lives attempts to straighten things out by having parties navigate obstacles, retreat toward settlements or ports, and recognize when nearby allies give them enough combined strength to turn around and fight. A follow-up update also addresses some army-joining and water-related behavior. The changes specifically concern parties fleeing the player, so don't expect an overnight transformation of Bannerlord's entire campaign AI. But making enemy commanders a little less eager to accidentally deliver themselves into your hands sounds like a welcome improvement.
