The Lord of the Rings: War of the Ring was built for a different era of monitors, and stretching its battlefield across a modern screen doesn't do its armies any favors. This patch adds proper 1080p widescreen proportions and an adjustable field of view, letting players see more of the action without distorting units.
It also remembers resolution settings between sessions and can keep unit health bars visible, while menus retain their original framing. The creator credits earlier widescreen work by Thales100, making this a continuation of a community effort rather than an entirely new discovery. It's a practical reason to return to an older Middle-earth strategy game.
