S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly's Living Zone AI is giving the Zone a lot more to say

The Zone has never been what you'd call welcoming. Between the mutants, anomalies, hostile factions, and the occasional terrifying noise coming from somewhere you really don't want to investigate, friendly conversation isn't exactly its strongest selling point.

Fl1P20's Living Zone AI is trying to change that, at least where your fellow stalkers are concerned. Its latest major update lets groups of NPCs take turns answering questions, adds squad-hiring conversations, introduces companion night watches, and brings AI messaging into the in-game PDA on more Anomaly engine configurations. Companions can respond to things they actually observe, such as visible injuries or an empty weapon, instead of magically knowing everything in your inventory. The current download also includes follow-up fixes to the initial update. There is a substantial technical catch, though: depending on your setup, the mod can involve external AI services, credentials, downloaded models, and automatic dependency installation. Online conversations may send your input to third-party providers, so this is one where reading the setup and privacy details really matters. Still, the idea of a stalker keeping watch while you sleep and telling you what happened overnight? That's the kind of atmosphere-building detail the Zone was practically made for.
