Leave Skyrim's snow behind with Moonpath to Elsweyr

If you've ever looked out across Skyrim's frozen mountains and thought, "You know what this adventure needs? Fewer snowstorms and more sunshine," Moonpath to Elsweyr might be right up your alley. Originally created by MuppetPuppet and maintained for Skyrim Special Edition by An_Old_Sock, this long-established quest mod follows a Khajiit caravan beyond Skyrim and into the warmer landscapes of Elsweyr. Deserts, jungles, unfamiliar creatures, and voiced characters make for quite a departure from the usual Nordic ruins, giving players a chance to explore a very different corner of The Elder Scrolls universe without pretending to recreate the entire province.

Moonpath has been around long enough to earn its place in Skyrim modding history, and that age is worth keeping in mind. An_Old_Sock's Special Edition continuation includes numerous fixes and improvements, but the underlying adventure still carries some of the quirks you'd expect from an older project. The caravan now begins outside Falkreath, rather than inside the inn as some older instructions suggest, and an optional patch can replace spiders for players who would rather encounter something else. It may not have the scale or polish of a modern total conversion, but there's a particular charm to stepping outside Skyrim's borders and seeing what another corner of Tamriel might have in store.
