Being Dragonborn is all well and good, but after enough playthroughs, some of us start wondering what life in Skyrim might be like if we weren't constantly expected to save the entire province.

Maybe we'd become a witchhunter. Join a sinister cult. Study forbidden magic. Make some spectacularly questionable decisions involving Daedra... you know, the usual career alternatives.

Flinch's Dealing with Daedra opens up those possibilities through an enormous collection of quests, factions, magical systems, and roleplaying opportunities. Players can pursue paths involving the Dragon Cult, ritual magic, witchhunter work, and other decidedly unusual occupations. There are new places to visit, characters to encounter, and even a magical portal network connected through standing stones.

The interesting part is how much responsibility the mod places on the player. Don't expect every objective to arrive with a convenient floating marker or a journal entry explaining precisely what to do next. You're expected to read, investigate, remember conversations, and occasionally figure things out for yourself. Imagine that... an RPG asking us to actually roleplay.

There are some practical considerations, including documented conflicts with certain other mods and optional mature themes that the creator says can be disabled. But for players who enjoy making their own stories rather than following another predetermined heroic destiny, Dealing with Daedra offers plenty of opportunities to become someone entirely different in Tamriel.

And let's face it, after fifteen years of being the chosen one, a career change might be long overdue. đź’š
