Go-Mod: Reborn is preparing its farewell, though players will have to wait a little longer for it. Developer LambdaLuke87 has moved the Half-Life sandbox's final update to a January 2027 target, with a customizable ImGui interface and a new way to script NPC variations at the center of the work.

The planned Italy Chicken Scripting system uses JSON to alter existing NPCs' models, sounds, health and other properties without requiring a separate code project for each variation. The developer says most of it is built but still needs refinement. Reborn development is expected to end after this update; a separate Steam release under the original Go-Mod name is also planned with the original author's approval, but has no announced date.
