Dragon's Dogma 2 already gives you companions, but Pawns aren't quite the same as a friend joining the griffin hunt. ButFrog's DD2gether alpha makes room for up to four players controlling their own Arisen, with Steam invitations helping everyone get into the same adventure.

The project aims to synchronize combat, enemies, NPCs and interactions, but alpha 0.24 is still rough territory. Bugs and crashes are expected, and the launcher can temporarily move existing REFramework script loaders out of the way. It's an exciting co-op experiment, provided players treat it as one rather than a finished multiplayer conversion.
