Apocalypter's Wild Wasteland Multiplayer Lets Friends Survive Together, Even When Someone Disconnects

Here's a question: if your friend suddenly disconnects in the middle of a post-apocalyptic wasteland, what should happen to their character? Do they vanish into thin air? Freeze in place? Become somebody else's problem?
Wild Wasteland Multiplayer has a much better answer. You pick them up and carry them.
Created by DeonDF, this multiplayer project brings co-op survival to Apocalypter, allowing friends to explore the wasteland together, synchronize their equipment and movements, and even share vehicle adventures. But the feature that really caught our attention is what happens when somebody leaves the game. Their character remains behind as a sleeping body, and other players can physically carry them somewhere safer.
Or somewhere considerably less safe, depending on how trustworthy your friends happen to be.
There's also a system for reviving downed teammates, giving the group a chance to recover when somebody goes down in a fight. The creator is continuing to refine the multiplayer experience, including how characters and vehicles behave together, so this is still a project with some development ahead.
But we have to admit, the idea of logging back into a survival game and discovering that your friends have been carrying your unconscious body around the wasteland is pretty damn funny. We're not sure whether that's friendship or kidnapping, but either way, it sounds like an entertaining evening.
