Thief has more shadows to explore

The City has more shadows to disappear into, but they won’t always keep you safe. The Black Parade is a ten-mission Thief Gold campaign from 2023 that follows Hume, an exiled criminal returning to a place full of secrets and old dangers. Its sprawling missions reward the patient scouting, improvisation, and quiet curiosity that make Thief so distinctive.
Hume lacks Garrett’s Keeper training, and the world responds accordingly. Bump into someone and darkness may no longer hide you; on higher difficulties, servants can relight torches and clean away moss. Water arrows can spread moss patches too, giving you another way to prepare a route. Those details make the familiar stealth rhythm less predictable without abandoning it.
Built over roughly seven years, the campaign requires Thief Gold, NewDark 1.26 or newer, and a compatible fan-mission loader. The creators warn that it is harder than the original games, conflicts with several graphics overhauls, and can encounter occasional NPC pathfinding snags. For returning thieves, that mix of familiarity and unease is the draw.
