Quake’s remaster takes the Libre route

Quake's modern rerelease has a fresh collection of places to explore, courtesy of a project with ambitions well beyond a normal map pack. LibreMaps brings LibreQuake's four main episodes and Episode Zero into Nightdive's edition, opening up a community-built campaign without requiring players to switch to another source port.

Low_Violin19's adaptation includes the project's dark ambient soundtrack and an option to swap between familiar Quake models and LibreQuake alternatives. It retains Quake's original sound effects for the rerelease's mix. LibreQuake itself remains a beta with unfinished areas and placeholder assets, and this port requires the modern Quake rerelease.
