Over the Hill gets darker nights and a whole lot more light

There’s something about driving through the countryside at night that makes even an ordinary stretch of road feel like an adventure. SquidFromWish’s Real Nights and Lights leans into that atmosphere, bringing darker skies, visible stars, and a Milky Way overhead to over the hill. Fog, dust, and snow can catch beams from vehicle lights, while adjustable darkness and moonlight settings let players decide just how much of the landscape they want disappearing into the night. It’s the sort of visual change that can make a familiar drive feel considerably less familiar.
The mod also adds configurable beacons, work lights, LED whips, and colorful decorative lighting, so players can go from moody nighttime exploration to something resembling a rolling Christmas display. There’s a multiplayer distinction worth knowing: time changes are controlled by the host, and other players need the mod to see your altered lighting. For a game built around the pleasure of getting out on the road, giving the night a little more character feels like a natural fit.
