There's fighting an enemy, and then there's making absolutely certain they know you could have defeated them with considerably more style. Atomicbentobox's Dylan May Cry leans enthusiastically into the second option, bringing customizable attack combinations and Devil May Cry-inspired combat ideas to CONTROL Resonant. Its latest update introduces several teleporting maneuvers, including Air Trick for appearing directly in front of a targeted enemy, Trick Down for repositioning around them, and an optional Trick Up for gaining height. It's the sort of movement that makes crossing the distance between yourself and an opponent feel like part of the attack.
Version 0.8.0 also expands lock-on controls and adds refinements to the combo and training interfaces. The new teleporting abilities have sensible restrictions, including a maximum range and obstacles that can block movement, while Trick Up is optional and limited to once per jump. Atomicbentobox is still developing additional combat ideas, so this isn't the final word on how the system will evolve. But for anyone who enjoys treating every fight like an opportunity to put on a performance, there's plenty to be curious about here.
