inZOI opens the door to Lua scripting, and modders just got a bigger playground

Giving players a beautiful sandbox is one thing. Giving modders more control over what happens inside it? That's where things can get especially interesting. KRAFTON's October 15 update for inZOI introduces Lua scripting support through its ModKit, opening the door to custom gameplay behavior beyond the visual and asset-focused changes creators could already make. Custom graphics filters can now appear as selectable in-game options, while improvements to mod activation, naming, and interface management should make living with a growing collection of modifications a little less chaotic.
There's also an optional AI-assisted workflow built around an in-game MCP interface, allowing natural-language assistance with Lua modding and certain commands. It's a tool for creators who want it, not a requirement to make mods or a promise that every generated script will work. The updated ModKit is available free through the Epic Games Store, with its current published requirements targeting Windows. Although the patch notes also reference Mac game builds, that doesn't mean Mac ModKit support has arrived. The bigger story here is straightforward: inZOI's modding possibilities are expanding beyond appearances, and that's an encouraging direction for a game built around player creativity.
