A Javan green magpie joins Planet Zoo, with a new sign for its habitat

There are few birds quite as striking as the Javan green magpie, and GreatCakeMods has brought that vivid appearance into Planet Zoo. The species mod uses a custom model, hand-painted textures, and its own animations to give habitat builders another animal to work with. A matching sign has also been added to the project, extending its presentation options.

There's some clever improvisation behind the bird's movement. The mod uses the wolverine as its underlying animal, with flying represented through an animation rather than true airborne behavior. That means the magpie may occasionally pass through objects or interact with invisible perches unless suitable enrichment scenery is provided. ACSE and the Eurasia Animal Pack are required. The species archive dates to October 9, while the additional sign was uploaded October 13.
