Farming a particular weapon in Borderlands 2 can involve a lot of repetition and a fair amount of guesswork. Loot Inspector brings some of that hidden information into the game itself, letting players examine the possible drops associated with enemies, bosses, chests, and other loot sources. Its browser includes item previews, source information, and approximate drop odds when the underlying rules can be evaluated.

The tool doesn't hand out equipment or improve anyone's luck. It reads the game's loaded loot rules, including relevant modded changes, and presents what it can determine. Some scripted drops may remain incomplete or impossible to calculate, and previewed weapons aren't guaranteed rolls. Still, for dedicated loot hunters, being able to investigate a farming target without constantly consulting outside references is a welcome convenience.
