Left 4 Dead 2 already knows how to ruin a perfectly good plan. Hard 4 Dead 2 seems determined to ruin the backup plan, too. Aliph's overhaul reshuffles enemies, bots, hazards, and friendly-fire consequences so that familiar campaigns become a much less predictable fight to the next safe room. Even ordinary scenery can become part of the trouble.

This is an intentionally unruly remix, not a tidy difficulty slider. Players looking to relearn the game's threats may enjoy the chaos, but anyone expecting a modest challenge bump should know what they're getting into. The full download is nearly 1 GB, and the project provides limited setup guidance.
