Deadly Premonition's PC version has never been the easiest way to experience its wonderfully peculiar world. ZachFix continues repairing that relationship, restoring the original difficulty selection when starting a new game and offering the Xbox 360-style combat strafe through its native XInput backend.

The update also addresses controller transitions, vibration and runtime patching problems. The strafe behavior is optional and disabled by default, and experimental physics-timing work remains outside the production release. This is the kind of preservation work that matters: keeping the game's odd personality while making the underlying PC experience less unpredictable.
