You've survived the fight, collected your loot, and still have miles of Pywel to cross before reaching the next settlement. Your armor's battered, your supplies are running low, and you're exhausted. Normally, you'd just keep moving. With Camp Happens, pushing your luck could make the next encounter considerably more dangerous.

Modder AlexeySova has introduced a survival overhaul that makes life between battles just as important as the fighting itself. Hunger, thirst, and fatigue gradually reduce your maximum Health, Spirit, and Stamina, respectively. Combat accelerates all three needs by 30%, meaning a long stretch of fighting can leave you progressively weaker even if you've managed to survive every encounter.

Fortunately, you don't have to rely on the nearest inn. Camp Happens lets players purchase reusable camping equipment and establish temporary campsites out in the wilderness. Pitch a tent, lay out a bed, prepare a meal over a campfire, or sharpen your weapons before heading back onto the road. You can even pack everything up and take it with you, turning a quiet spot in the wilderness into a useful place to recover. And if you find a particularly nice spot, your camp will still be there when you return.

Getting some sleep requires a little planning, though. The expanded rest system lets you choose anywhere from one to 24 hours, with eight hours enough to restore Rest from 0% to 100%. In Hardcore, Rest can fall below zero, so recovering may take longer. But sleeping also consumes food and water, and the interface shows those costs before you commit. A comfortable night's sleep sounds considerably less appealing when you realize you haven't packed enough provisions to get through it.

Your equipment has its own problems. Armor deteriorates as you take damage, with individual pieces retaining their condition until a blacksmith repairs them. And for players who prefer to travel prepared, a separate 200-slot inventory in your personal wagon provides room for supplies, equipment, and whatever you've collected along the way. That storage is shared between your owned wagons, so changing vehicles won't leave your provisions stranded somewhere across Pywel.

Camp Happens also lets you decide how harsh survival should be. Normal mode slows the depletion of your needs and prevents them from becoming fatal. Hardcore, enabled by default, allows prolonged hunger, thirst, or exhaustion to kill you. Kliff, Damiane, and Oongka each maintain their own survival conditions, so swapping characters won't magically restore someone's strength.

There's a satisfying connection between all these systems. The food you pack determines how comfortably you can rest, the rest you get affects your stamina, and the condition of your armor becomes another reason to visit town before setting out again. Camp Happens gives those stretches between Crimson Desert's bigger encounters more purpose, making preparation part of the adventure rather than something you do only when your inventory gets full.

One important warning: Empty your wagon's storage before uninstalling the mod. Anything left inside will be lost.
