Bloodborne Mod Lets You Fight Like Gehrman, the First Hunter Himself

Remember the first time Gehrman got out of that wheelchair? Up until that point, he'd been the frail old man hanging around the Hunter's Dream, offering advice and occasionally disappearing when you needed him. Then you find yourself facing him in a field of white flowers, and suddenly Grandpa's moving around like a man possessed, swinging that enormous Burial Blade around like he's got a personal grudge against your existence.

It's arguably one of Bloodborne's most memorable boss fights. And now, thanks to modder idkwhattosay, you can finally give the old man's fighting style a spin yourself.

The Gehrman Moveset Mod introduces a separate version of his Burial Blade that borrows animations directly from the boss encounter. His attacks, dodges, weapon transformations, and even idle movements are brought over, letting you fight with some of that same speed and aggression that made the First Hunter such a nightmare to face. There's even a special backstep attack that uses Quicksilver Bullets, giving you another little piece of his arsenal to play with.

Better yet, the mod doesn't replace the original Burial Blade. Both versions can coexist, so you can experiment with Gehrman's moves without sacrificing the weapon you already know. The Bath Messengers also sell his outfit alongside the new blade, because if you're going to steal the First Hunter's fighting style, you might as well dress the part.

This one's squarely aimed at players running Bloodborne through the community's PC emulation efforts, rather than an official PC version of the game. But we love the idea behind it. After spending so much time trying to survive Gehrman's relentless attacks, there's a certain satisfaction in finally being the one swinging that scythe.
